YOU AND I WEATHERED THE WINTER |
You and I weathered the winter night after night, lying crosswise in bed, our thighs knotting like twine while the windows fogged and rain rushed the stormdrain outside. I memorized the anatomy of your breastbone, your hands, the hollow of your throat, the hills of your hips, the damp nape of your neck, the pinktones of your swollen lips and openings, while you fingered my freckles and mouthed my sunspots, teeth scraping the starshaped scar on my shoulder, eyelashes and mane brushing skin, diving headlong into the flesh of my chest and ribs, and we created our own source of heat, linking limbs and lips well-worn with touch until spring came and we too bloomed in our love and lust. |
